the Washington, D.C. area.
FCSN will hold its popular seminar Fundamentals of Federal Contract Cost Accounting in half-day events 4 times from May through August.
The Fundamentals of Federal Contract Cost Accounting course contains essential information on the fundamental cost accounting principles
imposed on commercial organizations by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 31. Participants will through examples of how a DCAA
compliant accounting system should be set up. This seminar will be held on May 12th, June 17th, July 22nd, and August 19th.
FCSN will also hold the QuickBooks for Government Contractors workshop following the Fundamentals of Federal Contract Cost Accounting
seminar from May to August. This two and a half day workshop assists contractors in the actual set up of a DCAA compliant accounting
system using QuickBooks. Attendees will organize the company chart of accounts to segregate direct costs from indirect costs, organize
indirect costs into cost pools, and segregate unallowable costs. They will set up the company's jobs in QuickBooks, payroll items to
properly distribute labor to intermediate and final cost objectives, and service items so that categories of billable direct labor can
be tracked. They will see how indirect rates can be calculated and indirect costs can be allocated to contracts using tools like ICAT.
There will also be user group discussions so attendees can share their experiences and ideas. Attendees will get one on one assistance
and will leave with a DCAA compliant accounting system.
The seminars and workshops will take place at the ASCE Bechtel Conference Center (http://www.asce-bechtel-center.org/contact/directions.cfm)
